Welcome to the Shark Nation

Hey, thought I would post a little bit about the game me and Jonbro are working on. In the game you basically control a girl with a bow. This post is going to about how the bow physics work, and a few tricks you can do with it.

Now the arrows that you shoot have a velocity based on how long you charged the arrow, that's pretty simple. Longer charge = stronger arrow = more damage. But if an arrow doesn't have a high enough velocity, it's going to do less damage, and at some point it might not even damage the enemy. Arrows lose speed over time, so the game rewards highly charged point blank shots.

But it goes a bit deeper then that. Remember that gravity affects the arrows, so you can actually use that to your advantage. Jumping over an enemy and shooting an arrow down into them is much more effective the shooting an arrow from the ground up at them. In some circumstances, you can actually rapid fire arrows at enemies if you jump above them due to the velocity increase from gravity. It's a pretty cool system overall, at least I think so. You can find more information on all our in development games on the forum.

Shark City is coming along good. We're close to finishing the base engine, and soon we'll be done with the first level. Each level will play anywhere from 3-7 minutes, and each one will contain unique gameplay. It won't dissapoint. And neither will Best Friends Forever 3. Expect Best Friends Forever 3 in about a week.

Also, to get into the shark mood, we rented two movies to watch while we worked on the game; Shark Attack 3 and Sharks in Venice. Both were horrible movies in their own right. We reccomend watching Shark Attack 3, it was bad to the point where it was funny. Sharks in Venice though was just plain horrible. You don't want to watch it. Trust us.
